Book Review: Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash
I was so hooked after Yesteryear that I ordered Lost Lambs to arrive right as I finished it, no gap, no chance to lose momentum. This one felt like more of a slow burn, but the small inconsistencies along the way had me diving into Reddit mid read to check whether I'd somehow got a misprint. I won't say what, in case anyone else wants to go in fresh and have the same "wait, what" moment I did. Book Review: Lost Lambs, the premise might sound far fetched on paper, but probably

Out of Probate, Into Chaos: Our First House
Three years ago this June, we picked up the keys to a house that had come out of probate, and walked into what I can only describe as a 1960s time warp. No renovation since, as far as we could tell. It was, and I say this with real affection, a lot. The Outside of our first house, and That Enormous Blue Fir The front of the house is dominated by a genuinely massive blue fir tree that's been there so long it's basically load bearing at this point, towering over the garage and

Book Review: Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
This is, I think, the first proper fiction book I've read since school. Not out of principle, just laziness, and possibly a long-standing belief that non-fiction was somehow more virtuous. I picked this one up after hearing Anne Hathaway had bought the film rights, which is not usually how I choose what to read but here we are, easily led as ever. I was hooked almost immediately. I planned an entire birthday trip for someone without telling him. Which, if you think about it for too long, is basically a small-scale con. Mike turned 30, and instead of a card, he got a boarding pass. I'd like to say this was an act of pure generosity. Really it was an excuse to go and stand in front of some very old buildings and take some cool photos. Day One Barcelona: Landing, Ice Coffee and Feet in Sand We landed at 12:30 and were checking into the hotel by 13:45, wh

48 Hours in Cascais: Golf, Atlantic Light, and a Resort Worth the Flight Alone
Travel · Portugal · Luxury Stays There are places you visit for work and quietly hope no one asks you to leave. Cascais is one of them. Thirty minutes from Lisbon airport (a single Uber, no faff) sits a town that has absolutely no right to be this good. Royal heritage, a working marina, proper restaurants, and enough coastal drama to make you feel like you've done something meaningful with a Tuesday. I was there on a press trip through the agency, visiting one of our clients,
